Albert Einstein submitted the final version of his Theory of General Relativity to the Prussian Royal Academy 100 years ago today. Nine years later, he was made an Honorary Member of the LMS. His certificate, courtesy of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is shown below.
To celebrate his ground-breaking contributions to science, the Society is taking part in ‘Einstein’s Legacy: Celebrating 100 Years of General Relativity’ this weekend (28-29 Nov) at QMUL. The event is organised in partnership with the Institute of Physics, Royal Astronomical Society, Nottingham University, Cardiff University and QMUL.
