The Levelling Up Scheme, being piloted by the LMS thanks to a generous donation from Dr Tony Hill, and in collaboration with Durham University and the University of Leicester, is supporting the provision of online tutoring and pastoral support for A-level mathematics students from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds. During the mathematics pilot the LMS is working with Durham and Leicester to bring together undergraduate student tutors with A-level mathematics students who wish to improve their grades to enable them to study for a STEM degree.
The Scheme has now been launched at Leicester, where experts will tutor and mentor Year 12 students from traditionally disadvantaged backgrounds as part of Levelling Up – AccessLeicester: Maths. More information about the scheme at Leicester is available here.
