Alison Etheridge, Professor of Probability, University of Oxford, and President, Academy for the Mathematical Sciences, has been appointed Dame Commander (DBE) in the 2025 New Year Honours for services to the mathematical sciences.
The London Mathematical Society (LMS) would like to extend its warmest congratulations to Dame Alison for this significant and well-deserved recognition.
Jens Marklof, LMS President, said, ‘Professor Etheridge has had an enormous impact on the mathematical sciences in the many leadership roles she has held. She continues to contribute to the community, most notably through her recent appointment as the inaugural President of the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences’.
