The LMS Council is the executive body of the Society and the members of Council are the Trustees of the charity with responsibilities under law. Council is required to manage and be responsible for the affairs of the LMS as set out in the Charter and By-laws. It is responsible for determining the strategy and policy of the Society.
The Council has agreed three strategic goals for the Society for the period 2023-2028. These ambitions will build on the on-going work under the Society's charitable objectives and fulfil its role as a membership society for the advancement, dissemination and promotion of mathematical knowledge.
